Our philosophy

September 23, 2013

There's a new Wind a-blowin!

Due to increased family commitments, and the constraints of maintaining a long distance quartet, we are sad to say that our tenor, Paul Betancourt (aka Saca) will be unable to continue with the quartet. His talent is mighty indeed as we blew our way through a District Championship and 3 society medals with him. We will miss him, and wish him all the best for the future.

We are happy to say that A Mighty Wind will continue to blow with our good (and local) friend, Tim Reynolds singing tenor. We hear that he's had some success in the past, so we expect great things from him in the future. (No pressure).

As always, we are willing to sing on your show for gas money and candy, so please consider us for your next chapter show or garage sale!

A Mighty Wind had a great weekend with the Derbytown Chorus and their special guest, Sweet Adeline International quartet, TGIF! The show theme was “How the West was Sung” and was well scripted, costumed, staged and performed. Fellow Derbytowner and awesome arranger Tom Gentry was their Emcee. The two shows had very good attendance. It was AMW's debut performance of “He Ain’t Heavy”, which was received extremely well. AMW plans on singing that at the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Convention in Portland this July.

Thanks goes out to Rip Wilson, Mike Sitter and Dennis Conrad for their excellent communication and hosting. And, we wish TGIF the best of luck in their upcoming Regional contest in Apri!
